Free classical music festival, Laetitia Gerards @ Amstelveld

In the program “With Fire and Passion,” Laetitia and the ensemble will take the audience on a musical journey full of temperament, desire, and fiery rhythms. From Spanish fervor to South American melancholy—this is music that comes straight from the heart.

You will hear, among other things, Ravel's sultry habanera, De Falla's passionate folk songs, Piazzolla's vibrant tango world, and the world-famous Bésame mucho in a new, exciting guise.

Soprano Laetitia Gerards will come back to the stage of Klassiek op het Amstelveld – this time as an established name in the Dutch music world. What began in 2016 with an enchanting performance with Amsterdam Sinfonietta, followed by a collaboration with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra in 2017 – both during Klassiek op het Amstelveld – marked the beginning of Laetitia Gerards' musical journey on this special stage. Since then, she has built an impressive career as a soloist on major Dutch and international concert stages. Now she returns, radiant as ever, together with the sparkling and colorful Music Collective Amsterdam.

The Music Collective Amsterdam, a young and versatile orchestra with musicians from the Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, among others, also performs orchestral works that sparkle with energy – transparent, sparkling, and full of character.
