Title: What, this bot makes errors?? How to explain AI to managers

Evelyn Mรผnster is a Data Visualization Designer. She has a background in media art, software development and data analytics. With over 12 years of data visualization experience in various industries, she is today a renowned expert for designing data products that go beyond the capabilities of dashboards, helping technology clients develop purpose-built apps that use and visualize data in order to support decision making and navigating complex systems.

She is constantly developing new methods and mental models of how to design with data. Do take a couple of minutes to help her with a survey: https://www.chartdoktor.com/online-course-survey-i-need-your-help

Title: Old math and simple bar charts to make classification bias understandable

Emma Beauxis-Aussalet is a senior track associate at the Digital Society School of Amsterdam University of Applied Science, where she leads projects that apply artificial intelligence (AI) for sustainability and positive social impacts. Her prior research at CWI has developed statistics and visualizations that make bias and error more understandable for the general public, and thus contribute to making AI more fair, transparent and accountable. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University, Masters in Computer Science and Communication, and has worked as an R&D engineer and a designer.
