Hi everyone!

We're happy to announce a restart of our initiative - Elixir study group!
Learning a new language and its ecosystem always takes time, effort and devotion but it can be easier if we do it together! As of March 10th we are planning to start with a series of get togethers, for now, once per one or two months where we can gather, share knowledge and learn from each other.

To participate in this workshop, basic knowledge of programming is necessary, and familiarity with functional programming a plus. You should be able to set up your own environment and you should have strong will to dive into Elixir world and entire ecosystem. People who are not new to Elixir but would like to collaborate on a project are also welcome, as it's a good chance for others to get experience while working on a real world problem.

Through time we will try to bring coaches to help you out through the process but what we know for our first event is following:

18:30 - 19:00 - gathering, socializing, food (sponsored by Moose Code)
19:00 - 19:10 - Derek Kraan - intro to StudyGroups
19:10 - 20:45 - hands on the assignments/projects
20:45 - 21:00 - evaluate our session, what did you like/dislike/learn

The series of events will be hosted at Codaisseur! Codaisseur is the #1 Code Academy in The Netherlands. Their mission is to help code enthusiasts start a career in programming. They are also nice to have us around and we are very grateful for that.

For this event we have two awesome sponsors, space and drinks are on Codaisseur and pizza is sponsored by our friends from Moose Code! Yes, reading it well, there will be food!

As with all events we organise we have a Code of Conduct in order to make sure everyone enjoys our events, which you'll find at: https://github.com/amselixir/community/blob/master/CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md, please make yourself familiar with it before attending.

Till Tuesday, 10th of March!

(if you have any questions or remarks, please let us know)
