From the initiative of the Facebook Sustainable Community of Amsterdam we are kindly invited to join us their first community meet-up of 2018!
With the theme "Saving energy in the Home"

We believe that gathering in a relaxed, informal setting creates the best environment for sharing and learning - think of it as a catch up with your friends. Each meet-up we will focus on a topic and come together to share ways to help us in our quest to a more sustainable life.

Did you know that The Netherlands produces more carbon emissions per capita than Germany or the UK, and nearly double the carbon emissions per person vs. France?* In addition to transitioning to renewable energy sources it is also important to use energy more efficiently. Increase in energy efficiency offers many benefits, from CO2-reductions, to cost savings. With simple changes in your daily habits within your home you can help make a difference. After all, the most sustainable form of energy is energy that has not been used.

What are the things you can change in your household and daily habits? Beatriz Pineda, UvA PhD researcher, whose work covers urban environmental topics related to energy and food, will share practical energy saving tips with all of us and will facilitate the discussion. Come and share how you are saving (or struggling to save) energy to inspire others or be inspired yourself. We look forward to meeting you and your friends at Juice by Nature, where tea and healthy drinks will be served. Please sign up as “going” if you are confident about your attendance so we can plan accordingly. Entrance fee: €5 with a complimentary tea.
