Side income from what you already know or do — where to start

Plenty of people have something others would happily pay to spend an evening on — a walk they could lead, a dish they cook well, a craft, a workshop full of gear, a corner of the city they know inside out. Most never do anything with it, usually because it is not obvious how you would even start.

This session is about starting, and about what the money side realistically looks like.

We go through it together, over about ninety minutes:

• what people actually pay for
• setting a price, and when free is the smarter first move
• what it costs you to run — your time, materials, a room — and what is left over
• how you get your first handful of people to turn up
• what happens on the day, and how to make it good

You leave with a plan for one specific thing you could run, and a room of people you can ask when you get stuck.

It is a conversation rather than a lecture. You will be asked what you are thinking of running, and people who already do this will be there to answer questions — including the ones that feel too basic to ask.
