ROOTS OPEN AIR 2026

Over 40 years running started in Melkweg as Africa Roots Festival. Week long in several locations in the city by now.
Roots Open Air traditionally in Oosterpark is it's closing all day event.
From Tribal, Etno, Afro, Latin, Soul, Funk, Fusion to Pop depends on the stage and a year. Also dance, performances, very few spoken words.
Morning and midday are rather family orientated thus I am always coming a bit later and staying to the end. Usually three, four stages over entire day with various music to have some choice.
Roots Bazaar all around: Food, Drinks & Craft.
Park entrances will be closed at full 22000 visitors capacity.

Free entrance but usually no food/alcohol allowed from outside. Some years they are very strict with bags control, other not at all, hard to say ahead.
Choice and pricewise always better BYO anyway and we have easy trick to get it in if necessary, of course.
