About us
This is the group for people in Amsterdam who run — or want to run — small experiences for other people. Cooks, photographers, makers, guides, and anyone who knows one corner of this city well enough to show it to eight strangers.
What we do at events: we meet in person, roughly once a month. Someone who has been running experiences for a while takes the room through one thing they have learned — how to plan a two-hour walk, what to do when only three people turn up, how to price something honestly. Then we eat, ask each other questions, and swap the things that never make it into a guide. We also run practice sessions where you can try your experience on a friendly group and get honest feedback before you take it out into the world.
Who should join: people in and around Amsterdam who already host small group experiences, and people who are seriously thinking about starting. You do not need a finished idea, a business, or any experience — several members ran their first thing after coming to one of these evenings.
Dues and fees: there are no membership dues and no charge to join or attend. If an event ever carries a venue or food cost, we say so on the event page before you RSVP.
Affiliation: this group is run by Detor (godetor.com), a small Amsterdam business that works with local hosts. You do not need to use Detor to be part of this group and nothing here is a sales pitch — plenty of members host independently or on other platforms. We run it because hosting is lonely work and it is better with other people who do it too.
