Amsterdam Classical Meetup

On Monday, 13th of January at 19:30, we'll be meeting at Ox&Bucks in the Zuidas for an evening of music appreciation, lively discussion, and great company.

This is not a concert, but a meeting where we dive into the world of classical music, discussing pieces, composers, and the stories behind the music.

Agenda for the Evening:

• 19.30 - 20.00: Introductions, get your drink + small talk
• 20.00 - 20.45: Classical Discussion: Tchaikovsky - Piano Concerto No. 1 (Opus 23, B flat minor)
• 20.45 - 21.00: Select + vote music for next meetup
• 21.00 - 21.15: Upcoming concerts and events
• 21.15 - ??.??: Networking and closure

How to prepare (suggestions):

• Listen to the selected music and think of findings on what you liked, did not like, found remarkable etc.;
• Look into the composer, for example: when did he/she write this piece, for whom, what was the reception/critics;
• What performance (orchestra, conductor, specialist) would you recommend?;
• Suggest one piece you'd like to discuss the following Meetup;
• Which modern day artists did this composition inspire?
