Please join me for another visit to this living museum piece!

Finally, after a few years it's safe to go and visit places again. We start small and easy. For the near future I'm thinking of visiting flower parks and the Zaanse Schans.

But first - the Halfweg steam pump. It's very close to Halfweg station, only a 5-10 minutes walk. And Halfweg station is very close to Amsterdam. Travel is easy and quick by train. This steam museum presents the live workings of a steam pump used to clear some Dutch polders.

There is an entry fee of € 8,00. When we get inside we can have a coffee and discuss possible photo opportunities. All machines are right there without any fencing so you can get very close with your camera. The massive water weels turn to displace large amounts of water. And you can get so close you feel the spray on your face. Perhaps you want to do some macro shoots? It can be done. Be reminded - all at your own risk.

After a few hours, we chance location to the cafe/restaurant around the corner for a drink and exchange experiences.
