ROSARIO HEAD/LIGHTHOUSE POINT/LOTTIE POINT

Details

The forecast is beautiful for Friday, lets enjoy some wonderful ocean shoreline scenery!

This is a great collection of beautiful short hikes around spectacular points in the Bowman Bay/Deception Pass area. “Rugged coastal headlands, placid coves, tidal pools teeming with crusty critters, towering ancient evergreens and breathtaking views… “ Depending on the tide state we may explore some tide pools!

The Basics: The combined mileage will be approximately 4.3 miles, and approximately 643 feet elevation gain, so a relatively easy but very interesting hike. Discover Pass is required. Plan on hiking approximately 2 hours, longer if we explore some tide pool, at a slow to moderate pace. There is adequate parking and restroom facilities at the Rosario Head Trailhead.

Getting There: From Bellingham, Burlington, etc., take WA-20 west. At Sharpes Corner traffic circle keep left and take the 2nd exit to stay on WA-20 W. Continue through the next traffic circle, staying on WA-20 W. After 4.4 miles turn right onto Rosario Rd. Turn left onto Rosario Beach Rd and this will lead you to the Rosario Head Trailhead.
