Yama and Niyama are the first two spokes of Astanga Yoga. They're they are a simple list of dos and don'ts that are important to follow in day-to-day life, especially if you're meditating. Our conscience is disturbed if we do something we innately know is wrong, and that disturbs our peace of mind, making it difficult to concentrate. So using a set of principles like tools is essential for meditation as well as a harmonious and peaceful world.This is Yoga that supports and enhances meditation for health, flexibility, serenity and spiritual enrichment Bring a towel or mat and wear loose clothing. Chair and blocks are available to help you ease into various positions. Eight week cycle through September, but drop-ins are welcome. Find us in the small “Ed Building” behind the new church building. RSVP if you can. Advertising this course through other venues, so teacher Rick Davidson will be there even if Meet Up responses are few. $10 requested donation to defray facility costs.
