About us
We're a community exploring health from an evolutionary perspective. Hunter-gatherers, lean, fit and healthy, lived free of many of the chronic and degenerative diseases, physical ailments, dental decay and mental disorders modern, civilized humans experience. Anthropological findings provide insights in to the lifestyle of our ancestors that we can incorporate in to our contemporary culture such as: nutrient dense, local and organic foods, traditional meal preparation, intermittent fasting, optimal sleep, sun exposure, slow, strengthening and sprinting movements, play, social connections, baby wearing, breastfeeding, co-sleeping, natural cleaning and personal care products, time in nature and going barefoot.
Whether you call your nourishing lifestyle and real food approach Paleo, Primal, Weston A. Price, ketogenic, or a customized version of your own, this is a place to connect with like-minded people and find support on your wellness journey. Anyone new to these concepts or just curious what ancestral health is about is welcome!
Check out our lists of ancestral health books, films and local businesses.
