Ride the incoming tide up Placer River

Details

meet at the time above at the Placer River Parking Lot, 60.8173,-148.98927

With a 30.7' tide, the water will flow upriver slowly, maybe 1.5 mph. This trip would be good for people who are already comfortable with lakes.

The start time noted above is the launch time. It's best to be passing Potter Marsh an hour before that.

Bring your own kayak, paddle, skirt, life vest, rain jacket, rain hat, gloves, sunglasses, camera, snacks, drinks - the usual. Kayaks can be recreational lake kayaks or whitewater or sea kayaks. Canoes can be ok if you're pretty skilled. I've even seen a person on a stand-up paddle board with his dog.

Be passing Potter Marsh by an hour before the start time shown above, for time and tide wait for no one! Launch time shown (statlrt time) is at the reversal of the current, but it's ok to launch a bit later.
