Lift1428, a Miami-based innovation, design, strategy firm devoted to the healthcare space is joining the University of Miami Clinical and Translational
Science Institute (CTSI) in coordination with the Miami Lean Startup Circle and the New Frontier Nomads to bring South Florida this unique hacking event.

The event, is focused on the collective challenge of understanding and overcoming obesity in our diverse community, and will be hosted by Right Space Innovation at the Life Science and Technology Park at UM.

This hack-a-thon is intended to bring together teams who have a business idea around the topic of managing and reducing obesity. The big difference between this event and a typical hack-a-thon is the focus on collaborating with the healthcare experts to find a product worth building, rater than simply writing code and building a product as fast as possible."

A Hackathon is an event in which computer programmers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and others in the field of software development, like designers, app developers, interface designers, and project managers collaborate intensively on software projects. Some hackathons are intended simply for educational or social purposes, although this event’s goal is to create usable practices and software.
