Sep 13 MT WILSON to WOLLANGAMBE RIVER Mt Wilson township is located on a basalt-capped sandstone plateau which drops down to the rugged Wollangambie river with its ravines and white sandy beaches. We start walking from the fire station at Mt Wilson township along a fire trail and then a foot track down through lush ferny forest, passing a large sandstone outcrop. From near a ridge saddle are great views of the river. We visit the river in two places with amazing sandy beaches. After enjoying the river and the towering cliffs, we return the same way to complete a great adventure.
Meet at the fire station, The Avenue, Mt Wilson. Reach Mt Wilson along the Bells Line of Road via Kurrajong. (7 km, high)

Bring comfortable walking shoes,rain jacket, lunch, water (1L or more).
