π Welcome to the 43rd ngLeipzig meetup π₯³! This meetup will be in hybrid mode, so we will meet in person and we will be remotely available too. We will have an amazing talk about the new control flow syntax vs the old template syntax by Christian Illies.
π© Talk: RxAngular - template syntax vs control flow
You can dramatically improve the user experience of your Angular applications by using scheduling or rendering strategies for specific time-consuming tasks and use cases. In this talk we'll take a deep dive into the RxAngular/Template and CDK library. RxAngular focuses on improving runtime performance and template rendering. Our focus will be on its directives such as rxIf, rxFor and rxLet and their rendering strategies.
Now, with the latest release of Angular 17, there is a new way to improve Angular applications by using @defer blocks to lazily load and render components. This session is aimed at developers with an intermediate knowledge of Angular. Iβll explain and show the differences between Angular 17's @defer block and RxAngular's directives.
We will explore the immediate, userBlocking, normal, low, and idle rendering strategies, how to use them, and analyze their impact on performance and user experience.
Browser scheduling mechanisms
RxAngular/Template - directives and pipes
RxAngular/Cdk - How to use rx render scheduling
Comparison with Anguar (v17) @defer - lazy loading of components within your views using angular's new @ syntax
Our discussion will include practical demonstrations of how to implement these directives and strategies in real scenarios.
Whether you're a beginner or at an intermediate level, this talk will provide you with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions when it comes to choosing rendering strategies for your Angular applications.

π£οΈ About our speaker: Christian Illies (@kloener)
Christian is a passionate software developer with many years of experience. Back in the day he had to learn jQuery, Backbone, MooTools and many others. But that hasn't stopped him from loving frontend development. He started using Angular when it first came out and is fascinated by how much web development has improved since then. He also enjoys hiking with his wife, kid and dog.
