Angular signals with special guest - Manfred Steyer, GDE

Details
Hello friends,
It’s been quite some time since our last event so I’m extra super excited to announce our next meet-up, hopefully the first in another long series of community events. For this edition we’ve got a special guest joining us virtually through Hangouts - Manfred Steyer who will give us an intro into the newest feature one of the hottest topics in Angular (and not only), Signals. Manfred is a Google Developer Expert (GDE) for Angular, a Microsoft MVP, and a Trusted Collaborator in the Angular team. Writes for O'Reilly, Hanser, and the German Java Magazine. Most likely you’ve known Manfred from his numerous talks at Angular conferences and his impressive series of articles focusing on architecting your Angular projects.
Our second speaker is Alex Albu who will talk to us about how we can take advantage of modern frameworks, and patterns and adapt to changes in a way that we don't have to spend unnecessary time refactoring our apps. Alex is a software engineer with a passion for UI, Architecture, and teaching. He’s involved with creating simple solutions to tangled large codebase software but the highlight of his day is when he’s connecting with people either for a chat or just debugging some random thing.
Special thanks to our awesome friends at Cognizant Romania who are hosting this event at their Bucharest offices. Snacks included.
Schedule:
- 18:30 - 19:00 - Meet and greet
- 19:00 - 19:05 - Intro
- 19:05 - 19:45 - Manfred Steyer - Angular-Architectures with Signals
One of the most popular new features of Angular is signals. As a lightweight, reactive building block, Signals allow fine-grained change detection and increase the data binding performance. As is so often the case, the basics are quickly explained. Only then do the really interesting questions arise: How and where should I use Signals in my application? Do I need a store? What about the new NGRX Signal Store? Do I need to work with Immutables? When to go with Signals and when to prefer RxJS? These questions are answered here with some examples! In the end, you know how to integrate Signals into your modern Angular architecture.
- 20:00 - 20:30 - Alex Albu - Data Driven Frontends
UI Applications have grown in complexity over the last decade as more and more frameworks emerge but also on a logical plane tendencies shift, things change and we end up rewriting apps 5 years into the future. In this short journey, we are going to look at how such an application can be built so that we can take advantage of modern frameworks, and patterns and adapt to changes in a way that we don't have to spend unnecessary time refactoring.
- 20:30 - 21:30 - Networking and open discussion. And snacks
Hope to see you there!
Have an awesome week,
Andrei
