#28 Angular Munich Meetup

Details

Join us at our 28th Angular Munich Meetup - first time fully online!

You asked for these topics, and we found some awesome speakers:

  • Dylan Hunn: Angular Strictly Typed Forms: Building Safer Forms (20 minutes)
  • Miro Jonaš: Nx - the obvious choice (35 minutes)
  • Manfred Steyer: The Status of Micro Frontends (30 minutes)

Awesome lineup for our first meetup since the pandemic! We already know Manfred in Angular Munich Meetup, and we bring two more people, Dylan from Angular Team at Google, and Miro who is another known face in the Angular circles!

For each talk, we'll also have up to ten minutes of Q&A. Details on the talks bellow.

We'll meet via Google Meet (link) (but if you have an interesting alternative proposal, let us know). This is going to be our first online event, so bear with us if we get the usual beginner technical issues :)

Nx - the obvious choice
We live in a world constantly being tempted with choices. Choices that drain our time and energy.
How do you decide what to use? How do you make sure your choice is the right one? Who should you trust?
Let me enlighten you on what benefits you will reap by using Nx (and monorepos) in every project size and setup. Let me give you enough arguments to make the right choice. The obvious choice you were missing this whole time.
Get ready for the future! Get ready for the age of monorepos!

Miro Jonaš
Miro is a senior engineer at Nrwl.io and a core member of the Nx team. He's interested in the front end of things, helping companies build scalable and performant applications. He enjoys sharing with the community, speaking, contributing to open source, and organizing events. Miro is co-founder of Angular Austria and co-organizer of Angular Vienna and ViennaJS meetups.

The Status of Micro Frontends

In the last years, numerous companies adopted Micro Frontends and more are evaluating this popular approach. Meanwhile, we even have tools like Module Federation simplifying the implementation dramatically.

In this talk, we have a closer look at the current status of Micro Frontends. When do they make sense and when should we better keep our hands off them? What are possible implementation strategies, best practices, and the most common pitfalls?

By the end you know, if Micro Frontends are the right choice for your project and how to benefit from battle proven patterns and best practice.

Manfred Steyer

Trainer, consultant and programming architect with focus on Angular. Google Developer Expert (GDE) and Trusted Collaborator in the Angular team who writes for O'Reilly, the German Java Magazine, and windows.developer. Regularly speaks at conferences.
