Parrot Crisis Awareness Demo
Details
***Please try to wear a black coat, if you have one, so we look cohesive***
•••All signs and handouts will be provided•••
WHAT TO EXPECT . . .
- -Where we will stand:
We will stand on the public sidewalk in front of the shopping center at 5029 US-130 Suite 440, Delran, NJ 08075. The shopping center sits on very busy Route 130 so we will have a huge audience.
- -What we will do:
We will hold signs with messages about the Parrot crisis. We will have educational handouts if we happen to have any pedestrian intersections.
All signs and literature will be provided.
- -Parking:
Customers of the GreenLeaf shopping center may park in the parking lot.
- -Accessibility:
We will be standing on a flat sidewalk that is accessible to wheelchairs. If you are in need of a metal folding chair, please reach out to organizers. We will not be moving from the site. Please reach out with any specific questions. One of the organizers is disabled and happy to answer questions! We are eager for your attendance!
- -Police Interaction
Little to none. We will be assembling and expressing ourselves through an activity protected under the First Amendment. Everything we will do is legal.
If the police do arrive, there will be a designated liaison to communicate with them. We ask that no one, other than the police liaison, speak with police. This will help to avoid confusion and undesirable situations.
- -Restrooms
There is a Wendy’s in the GreenLeaf shopping center. Customers can use the restroom and warm up in there.
- -Receptivity of the public
We won’t have much one-on-one contact because we are standing along Route 130 and can only interact with people in their cars (unless they pull over to speak with us). From past experiences, we expect a reaction that is predominantly positive.
