Orlando: Urge SeaWorld to Stop Abusing Dolphins

Please join PETA supporters for an important day of action for our Free the Dolphins Campaign, to urge SeaWorld and other marine parks across the U.S. to stop breeding dolphins and evaluate them for release to the ocean or send them to seaside sanctuaries, where they can live in a more natural environment, feel ocean currents, and live free from exploitation, while still receiving human care.
In nature, dolphins form complex social networks and swim freely in the ocean. But SeaWorld and Discovery Cove continue to use dolphins and whales as breeding machines to create more animals forced to endure lifetimes of misery. Unwilling female dolphins are taken from the water and sometimes drugged so they can’t fight back while staff shove tubes filled with semen into their uteruses. Some endure this process repeatedly, and their babies may die or may be shipped to other parks.
Any facility that allows visitors to touch, hug, swim with, or ride dolphins is putting both dolphins and humans at risk. Dolphins don’t choose to participate in these encounters and would never naturally allow humans to ride them. Some dolphins have bitten visitors—including children—during interactions, and many illnesses, including viral, fungal, and bacterial infections such as salmonellosis, can also be passed from dolphins to human visitors.

We have a required dress code! Please dress sharply in a PETA T-shirt, nice pants, and close-toed shoes. We must ensure that the focus remains on the animals without any distractions that could shift people’s attention. T-shirts will be available on-site for everyone.
All materials, such as posters, will be provided.
Please refrain from bringing dogs, as there might not be a comfortable place for them to lie down during the protest.
