Protest Loomis Circus Ocala – November 4

Details
Join us to raise the consciousness of Central Floridians about the cruelty of the Loomis Brothers Circus. Recently, Americans became aware of just how cruel these events are for the animals forced to participate. Circus staff have been caught on film striking elephants with a bullhook, even when the elephants were lying down. These violent practices are hidden from the average circus-goer, hence the need to expose and demonstrate against this animal cruelty.
Elephants performing for Loomis Bros Circus are facing extreme abuse. Throughout various performances, elephants have been forced to work on slippery grounds, denied normal bodily relief, and threatened with bullhooks and electric prods. Other animals are suffering at the hands of this notoriously cruel circus, too. Brian Franzen, who exhibits big cats at the Loomis Bros. Circus and Shrine circuses, has said he “sprays cayenne pepper in tigers’ eyes and noses when they refuse to obey (his) commands."
We'll be outside of the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion event location and simply show our signs to occupants of vehicles entering the event to understand what cruelty is this circus. As we exercise our First Amendment rights, this will be a peaceful and non-confrontational event, and all ages are welcome.
Please make and bring a large sign on a stick or pole with a short (1-5 word) anti-rodeo message. We will have an extra sign if you cannot bring your own.
