Automated testing is a key part of creating quality software, yet many developers learn the subject as they go. As a result, they might be lacking in knowledge of the fundamental concepts of testing. This can lead to test suites that are bloated and slow while still not testing what is actually important. This presentation aims to provide you with an understanding of how testing is approached in the software development world in general, and how you can use this knowledge to effectively test your Ruby and Ruby on Rails applications. Even though the examples will be focused on Ruby, developers who use other languages should still be able to learn as well.
