NEWS: Studio Update (not an in-person event)

Details

This is a NEWS UPDATE, not an in-person event.

The Photography Guild has many exciting plans for 2023.

A lot of work is currently underway at Brad Switzer's new photography studio.

The new studio consists of the main studio area (which is roughly 40’ x 80’), a kitchen & eating area, a restroom, and two changing rooms.

The walls have already been freshly painted with a gray, non-reflective, photographic paint. New, beautiful wood-grained flooring has been installed over the entire studio area.

Several large Samsung Picture Frame Monitors are currently being mounted on the walls to both display digital photographs and serve as wireless ‘Tethered Monitors’ during studio photoshoots. The wiring and computer interface is in progress.

New upholstered furniture has been ordered for the lounge area.

A gallery area is being designed and planned to be built to display large printed photographs.

Two 4-roller backdrop management systems are planned to be wall mounted to provide rapid lowering and lifting of eight different backdrops, providing quick changes between nine background options (including the gray painted wall).

Any number of the temporary backdrops can be erected easily to provide limitless theme photoshoots.

An assortment of backdrops are being considered and purchased.

We already have lots of studio lights and light modifiers.

Current plans are to have the studio ready for a Grand Opening and use by The Photography Guild in March.

I think it would be great if Meetup members would bring in their friends and family members as portrait subjects, and thereby gain free studio experience making creative and precious portraits of them.

Stay tuned on The Photography Guild for updates and future events.
