Ann Arbor Spiritual Explorers

Tarot Meditation and Mysticism explores the Tarot via the Socratic Method, meditation, and reading practice. Each session consists of 45 minutes of discussion/lecture, 20 minutes of meditation, and 20 minutes of reading practice.

Each night focuses on a different topic, beginning with the Minor Arcana and eventually working through the entirety of the Minor cards, including the court cards. An exploration of the Major Arcana cards will follow in future weeks.

The class has a large emphasis on the mystical aspects of Tarot and meditation. The reading practice occurs at the end of the sessions to give the student information to work with during readings, rather than be completely dependent on intuition.

Every other Sunday 6:00–7:30 pm

About Nicholas O'Donnell
Nick uses a unique set of skills melding mindfulness meditation, esoteric studies, and the intuitive arts into a comprehensive spiritual system that anyone can understand and learn. He believes that mindfulness meditation is foundational work for spiritual studies. Through immersing himself in mindfulness meditation and the Tarot, Nick has also developed a one-of-a-kind Tarot Meditation program exploring the deepest meanings of the tarot on a personal level.

About the Heart-Centered Meditation Classes:
The Four Immeasurables—loving-kindness, compassion, empathetic joy, and equanimity—along with other heart-centered practices, offer a wide range of benefits. These include cultivating attention and emotional balance, reducing anxiety, enhancing relationships, and bringing greater purpose and meaning into life. Such meditations counteract negative emotions like anger, jealousy, and prejudice, while promoting happiness and fostering deeper connections with others.

Each session includes a short introduction to the practice, a guided meditation, and time for discussion or optional sharing. Each class will feature a different guided meditation.

This is a 6-class series. Each class will be different and somewhat building on the previous one, but each class could be taken individually instead of attending all 6. Audio recordings of missed classes will be available for those who sign up for the entire series.

About the Lucid Dreaming Classes:
Discover how to recognize that you are dreaming and explore the nature of dream reality. You don’t need any experience
— just a little curiosity and a willingness to learn and experiment.

This course explores the theory, practice, and benefits of lucid dreaming, as well as daytime and nighttime practices to stabilize and deepen lucidity, aid dream recall, and help you become lucid within dreams. Concepts will come from the modern practice of lucid dreaming and may also draw upon Tibetan dream yoga practices.

Learn to fly, walk through walls, befriend dream figures, and more. Lucid dreaming can reduce nightmares and anxiety by allowing greater control within the dream. It can also enhance problem-solving and creativity by unlocking the subconscious, potentially improve motor skills through dream practice, and provide profound insights into the nature of the mind. We’ll explore techniques for remembering dreams, as well as both daytime and nighttime practices for becoming lucid and navigating the dream world.
