Friday Night Pickleball! (Ages 21-40)- *RSVP required (Truxtun Park, Annapolis)
Details
Let's play pickleball! Beginner's welcome! We will meet at 6PM on May 29th, at the large "Blended Courts 1 & 2", down the hill from the parking area. We will have a whole lot of fun packed into 2 hours! Shout out to Peake Social for allowing us to utilize their 4 nets to set up our games! We will also continue the social vibes after and meet up at a TBD local establishment for some drinks/food (at participant's own cost).
*๐*Parking note: the little lot fills fast, but nearby street parking is plentiful
*๐ฒ* Although this event is being put on for free at the Jaycees' cost, please consider making a donation for an amount that you feel is fair. This will help to reimburse us for the cost of the court rentals and it also ensures that we can keep putting on events like these in the future.
RSVP as soon as you can, as we must limit the total number of players to 24 to prevent long wait times between games. If you can't make it after RSVP'ing, please notify us ASAP so we can fill the coveted spot. Ratio is currently set to 6 players: 1 court. Ideally, an individual gets to play two games in a row, rest for one, repeat. Use the short wait times to rest, chat, and make new friends! ๐
How Open Play Works:
We will play in an open format and use a white board with a grid of blocks for signing up for available courts. Players will write their name and add an A= Advanced, I= Intermediate, or B= Beginner, so we can attempt to have both an even mix of skill levels during games as well as some competitive doubles games among higher-skilled players! Games are played to 11 points, and a team must win by 2. The next block that has 4 confirmed players waiting will be the first to scratch through their block at a completion of one of the games and jump on that available court to begin play, and so on. *Don't worry, I'll cover this again, including any rules of the game, and it will become quite simple once you see it in action!
Looking forward to having some great games!
