HalloCon II - Saturday, October 24, 2009

This is announcement is about a special event I am hosting for a second year.

It is called "HalloCon II".

Date: October 24th, Saturday
Time: 3:00 PM until midnight (come for all or part of the event)
Location: 5496 Michael Dr Ypsilanti Mi 48197 (my house)
Dress: It is partly a Halloween party, so dress to the maximum your personality will allow
Bring: a snack, drink (alcohol is OK), games, merriment
Bring: yourself, significant other, friends, other gamers

Purpose: Well ultimately to have fun, but this is a gamer style Halloween party not restricted to gamers. I will have 7 tables set up. Bring and run a game and/or play in other games and/or watch the Michigan game. I am asking GM's to keep games to not more than 90 minutes so everyone gets to play in multiple games. If most people dress up even a little it will be great. I will put up lots of Halloween stuff.

I am inviting and expecting a few non-gamer people to attend and play cards or join in on other games like Scrabble, Balderdash, Brain, etc....... gamer games like Settlers of Catan or Bang, etc are the main course.

I welcome miniature games as well. ....... anything that is cool, please bring and run ..... it will once again be awesome.

Feel free to invite gamers from your gaming group or others.

Families are welcome, although keep in mind most games will be at an adult level and you must watch younger kids, plus there will be alcohol.

If everyone brings a snack or an exotic Halloween food, and drink, there should be plenty of food to go around .... although a group could order Pizza or whatever. I will make spaghetti again.

If you're definitely coming and can bring a game to run drop me an E-mail. However, if you don't know till the last minute that is OK as well.

For questions give me a call at 734-218-0388 or E-mail me.

See you,

I will run a few(?) Serenity RPG short games. Max of 8 players each game. You will need a standard set of dice. I will have pre-made characters ready and a set of quick rules for everyone.

Book: "Yes, I'd forgotten you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now. Got your next heist planned?"

Simon: "No. But I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist."

I will run a session of Pathfinder
No worried if you've never played it. If you've played D&D 3.5 you'll be fine.
I have over a dozen pre-gens to pick from and will have any new info you might need to get the hang of things.

And I'm game for a session of Serenity

I should be able to be there for part of the day. Not 100% sure if Kali will join me yet, as we also have a family commitment later in the day.

If I can make it, I will bring Carcassonne, Illuminati, Pandemic, and Super Munchkin. All are fun to play and relatively quick.

I want to play Zombies, Dennis' spooky game, Serenity and Pathfinder. Geez, so many games and so little time. I will be bringing a few short AD&D adventures. I'll have pregens on original char sheets. I will be simplifying the combat rules however.

so what foods/drinks do we have coming? I have a zillion ideas... choco dipped pretzels, gyoza & dipping sauce, fortune cookies, Arare (salty rice crackers)or hot spiced cider w/ apple jack... or orange party punch ;) something sweet or salty, appetizer or side dish... I'm curious what everyone else is bringing...

Here are the PreGen character backgrounds for the Pathfinder adventure I will be running on Saturday. Let me know if you have any questions or if any character pops out at you.

I have information packets for each character with details about each character's nationality and homeland along with copies of pages from the core rulebook to help folks with any rules changes from D&D 3.5

If you need more info just ask
And fee free to check out the Pathfinder Wiki if you want to learn more.
