About us

During these difficult times, are you looking to get inspired and join the growing movement to build a better Chicago, United States, and world? Join our Anne's Haven- Community Peace Center Meetup group! A nonprofit serving the Portage Park and Chicagoland community for the past decade, Anne's Haven provides an inclusive, welcoming space for community peace education programs. We strongly believe that sustainable peace and justice start at the individual- and community- level, and that every person has a unique role to play in building peace. Our programs feature classes, workshops, and community gatherings focused on:

a) fostering inner peace- including yoga, meditation, and sound bath classes
b) youth empowerment and leadership development
c) dialogue/ skill-building for adults focused on peacebuilding
d) activism for social and economic justice, and
e) building coalitions uniting local schools, businesses, houses of worship, and media for peace and justice

Our current programs include a monthly interfaith gathering on the last Sunday of every month and Community Service 2.0, a high school program that enhances young people's dedication to public service while strengthening their communication, leadership, and peacebuilding skills.

This summer in August, we will be launching "Peace Project," a fun, 3-week educational program for kids aged 9-14- more info to come soon on our social media platforms!

Through your involvement with us, you will have the opportunity to explore your personal vision of peace, learn about the art of peacebuilding, and be equipped with critical communication, leadership, and peacebuilding skills to maximize your impact as a peacebuilder and changemaker! All of our classes, gatherings, and workshops are very affordable, and many of them are free to attend.

Please reach out to annespeacecenter@gmail.com with any questions or to introduce yourself. Look forward to seeing you soon!
