Sufi Gathering

Details
In the name of the Divine, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
Hi everyone, the next gathering will be on Wednesday May the 8th, from 7pm -8.30pm .
Sufism is a sensible, useful spiritual practice. It is not a religion, and all are welcome. Please come with an open heart and an open mind.
Sufism is an ancient spiritual tradition of learning how to take the journey to your heart, and accordingly to the Divine. The teachings derive from thousands of years of spiritual practices. For history and overview, see Idries Shah’s The Sufis or Pir Taner Ansari’s The Sun Will Rise in the West.
We usually sit on cushions. If you have a physical restriction there are also chairs. We will do our best to answer any questions that you may have related to our teachings. Time will be devoted to discussion as needed.
We usually conduct the Sufi Ceremony of Remembrance (Zikr).
Traditional Sufi teaching stories and poetry may be presented. These include works by Rumi, Hafiz and Nasruddin. We’ll discuss the symbols and metaphors used and how Sufi teachings are expressed through art over the centuries.
* It is certainly our intention to respect your privacy. The email list is used to let you know about coming Sufi events. If you would prefer not to be on our mail list, please send a return e-mail to let me know.
