CP-Ansible to rescue your Kafka-esque world

Have you tried setting up a Kafka cluster and felt it wasn’t an enjoyable experience? Well, you are not alone.

CP-Ansible (open-sourced Ansible playbooks for running Kafka) offer a simple way to deploy and manage Kafka. CP-Ansible solves the problem where you want to set up a Kafka cluster but doesn’t want to get into the overhead of setting up all those minute and detailed configurations many times over on different components and VMs. Just set some variables in the input YAML file, and it does the rest for you.

In this session, I’ll talk about how we use Ansible to automate everything to do with the Confluent Platform Community offering (source open) with the help of a demo. And how to use CP-Ansible (open-source) to help you with your Kafka journey.

👉Pre-Requisite:

• Basic knowledge of Linux, SSH & Ansible
• An introductory understanding of Kafka and Ansible will help.

Speaker: Kumar Utkarsh, Software Engineer, Confluent
Kumar has worked extensively on CP-Ansible (an open-source solution using Ansible Playbook for the management of the Confluent Platform) and is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer for the Confluent Platform team. Utkarsh has been involved in public speaking since a young age and he loves software. While writing this bio, Utkarsh realized that he finds it oddly comforting to refer to himself in the third person.
