Itinerary

New Zealand is home to a unique species of glowing creatures called Arachnocampa luminosa. Inside the Waitomo Grotto, thousands of these tiny glowworms light up the cave ceiling, creating a magical underground experience.
Start with convenient pickup from Auckland CBD, then enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive through the Waikato countryside. We will make a scenic stop along the way for photos, with additional stops if needed.

Once we arrive at Waitomo, you’ll have around 30 minutes of free time to browse the gift shop or grab a drink or something to eat at the Waitomo Homestead.
You’ll then enjoy a 1-hour guided tour inside the Waitomo Glowworm Cave. During the tour, your guide will explain the history of the cave, the glowworms, and the rock formations you will see inside. The experience includes a peaceful flat-bottom boat ride through the cave river, where you can admire the glowworms sparkling overhead in silence.
After the cave experience, we’ll head back to Auckland via scenic country roads.
