Exploring the Intersection of Race and Class (RJD: Natick)

Details

What did you learn from the videos/readings that we posted that you didn't know before about the intersection of race and class, and/or racism and classism? What other things do you know?
How is wealth defined (in the links we posted)? What created (creates) the wealth gap?
What are things that could be done to help close the gap? (the Vox.com link, #2, listed some ideas)

We will discuss the questions above and watch this together: Whites Aren't Affected by Racism but are Victims of Classism: https://youtu.be/VkNhFlStz1k (4:26 mins). Further resources are listed below that you can review to prepare (not required but all helpful in learning about this topic), we will refer to some of them:

Monthly meeting overview:

Please join in the conversation as we continue to get real about the problem of racism in our world, and move toward personal and collaborative action. Our Racial Justice Dialogues (RJD) are opportunities to talk openly about racism and other forms of oppression in our society. Please join us to continue sharing our experiences, hopes and dreams about living in community beyond race. All are welcome. The monthly meeting topics come from a vote done at the end of each meeting.

This group meets the first Saturday of each month.

Please let us know your needs so we can help make the event accessible for you.
Parking is available, and the Worcester Line of the commuter rail stops in Natick, walking distance away.
Deb will add +#s to her RSVP to show folks signing up on other sites for this meeting.
Please RSVP if you can come to this meeting, and change it if your plans change. Thanks.
