Anyone in Gander Still Skateboarding in Their 30s-40s?

I’m a 40 year old male and I’ve been itching to get back to skateboarding. I haven’t been on one since I was a teenager, and I was never very good. I don’t see many people going around on them anymore, certain no one close to my age.

I have no interest in hanging out at the skate park, I’m good with cruising around just for the fun of it. My problem is that my lack of skill is VERY obvious, and then there’s my age. I’m self conscious about the whole idea.

Does anyone around town still skate at this age? Would they like company? I know at the end of the day, I’d still be a 40 year old guy wobbling around and looking foolish. But I’d have a support system. 😅
