This is an awesome sunset and night hike!

We'll hike to the top of Mission Peak. The distance is 7.5 miles roundtrip & the elevation gain is 2500 feet. We'll hike to the top and watch the sunset at 4:55PM. You will need a headlamp or flashlight to help you light the way down. The moon will be 99.7% full and rise at 4:32PM, so it will help light the way. We need to be off the mountain by 10PM.

Please be on time as we need to get to the top to watch the sunset & back down on time. We will stay together but move briskly. Let's not take too many photos or dilly-dally. If we aren't back by the time the park closes, the park issues heavy fines.

You need to wear proper footwear (hiking boots preferred over tennis/running shoes), headlamp or flashlight and warm clothing. It can be windy at the top. You will be asked if you have these items when RSVPing. If you answer "no" or do not answer, you will not be permitted to attend. Safety first!

Meetup location: Level 1 entrance of the Ohlone College Parking Structure.

Parking: From Mission Boulevard, turn into the Ohlone College campus. Go past lot H and K to the parking structure. Park in the parking structure. Pay for parking. Machine is at far end facing away from trailhead. Congregate on Level 1 at the southwest entrance facing the trailhead. Trailhead and port-a-potty are across the street from the parking structure.

You can park off campus for free and walk uphill 15 minutes to meet us.

Note: We will not start the hike from Stanford Ave, so don't go there!
