Batch processing, new tech, and lightning talks

Details
Good news Everyone! Our third meetup is almost here.
Agenda:
-
Mark Sumner (https://github.com/msumner91) is going to give an introduction to Apache Beam, how it relates to Flink and data streaming in general, and why Flink users should be aware of it.
-
Ignas (you might remember him from the meetup in early March http://goo.gl/MAaFBz) will walk you through an implementation of logistic regression with Flink. As a bonus, we will take a look at how its performance compares to an existing counterpart in Spark's MLlib and how much we can gain by using Flink's native iterators. Who knows, maybe this event will turn into a pull request (Flink doesn't have an API for logistic regression yet) so don't miss it!
-
Lightning talks. We would love to hear from any volunteers to give 2-5 minute lightning talks on a Flink-related topic of their choice. We want to keep the meetups fresh and interactive, and so we need your help! Whether it's something that you're working on, an invite for collaboration, questions related to data streaming, opinions, facts, or poetry about Flink... we want to hear it. Please contact me to discuss your ideas.
And yes, we'll have pizza.
