2017-18 Apache Flink Meetup Year Review

Hello to all Squirrels!

After liaising with the meetups organizers we decided to postpone this meetup, originally scheduled for the beginning of August, for some time in Septemeber. The 10th has been set as a final date.

This will, therefore, be our first meetup for the 2018-2019 period.

We thought that it would be nice to review the events held in the last (academic) year, the speakers that presented and more importantly Flink's new features as well as the community's plans for the new year! Also, with
Flink Forward taking place at the beginning of September, we will have an opportunity to review on the various conference talks and presentations.

We also have a reason to celebrate; our community has grown! We are officially more than 500 members, and this definitely calls for ... pizza and more!

Looking forward to seeing all the usual suspects as well as new members on the day!
