About us
Are you interested in stargazing? Would you like to get together with like-minded people to observe the wonders of the universe like stars, planets, nebulae, and galaxies? Whether you are an expert astrophotographer or someone who just likes to look up at the night sky, the Far Out (in the East Valley) Stargazers Meet-Up Group is for you.
I am starting this meet-up group as a way to hold regularly scheduled star parties in support of the dark sky initiative in Pinal County. The events will be held monthly at Peralta Regional Park, off Peralta Road in the far East Valley. Events will start just before sunset, usually on the date of the new moon, and when the sky is clear. Events are open to all, but please sign up on Meet-up.
Because stargazing is best when the sky is clear, events will be rescheduled if the weather does not cooperate. Participants who have telescopes, binoculars, or camera equipment are encouraged to bring them. Folks without gear or with gear that they would like help using are also welcome. The organizer will have a smart telescope available for viewing, as well as a computer plus tv monitor for displaying images captured with the telescope.
