7.00pm - Talk - "Kafka Shock: Dissecting Kafka Protocol for fun and profit" by Nacho Muñoz from Funding Circle

This talk is about Kafka internals, specifically, about the Kafka Protocol and how can we use this knowledge to inject failures in Kafka. The ability to inject failures in Kafka could be leveraged for different scenarios like integration testing, dynamic analysis and design and testing of monitoring/alerting rules based on JMX metrics. I will show a demo of each scenario using this a PoC that I have called Kafka Shock.

Nacho Munoz is Software Engineer passionate about functional programming, distributed systems, and cyber security research. Currently, he works at Funding Circle as a Senior Software Engineer. He holds a bachelor of computer science and a master's degree in E-Commerce and Security from the University of Salamanca.
