Agenda:
11:00-11:30 Meet and Greet
11:30- 11:45 Introduction to Apache Pinot
Kartik Khare | software Enfgineer @ StarTree

11:45-12:05 | Real Time Observability using Apache Pinot and Grafana
Vaibhav Mittal Principal Engineer @ Cisco
Saurabh Dubey, Software Engineer @ StarTree

Cisco Webex is an enterprise grade video conferencing platform used by 650 Million monthly participants. Cisco WebEx runs over 30 Billion Meetings every month on their Platform. Cisco monitors over 80 Million Quality metrics per hour and needs under 5s in data freshness. In order to meet this demand, Cisco uses Apache Pinot as the technology to build their Monitoring and Analytics Platform.
In this talk we will introduce Apache Pinot and see how Cisco uses Apache Pinot to Monitor over 30 Billion Meetings every month. We will see some of the limitations of the existing real time monitoring systems and why they needed to build a native Grafana connector for Apache Pinot that provides them with the slice and dice capabilities needed by their operations teams

12:05-12:40 | Why we moved from ElasticSearch to Apache Pinot for our Analytics Needs
Shashank Raj, Director of Engineering @ Beaconstac
Suraj Pillai, StarTree Enterprise Architect @ StarTree

Beaconstac is a leading QR code analytics platform. One of the popular products is Digital Business Cards(DBC) which help you exchange business cards electronically. Since this is a business facing application, a lot of user facing analytics such as - number of scans on a DBC (with varying time granularity), scan location analytics, etc - are made available to the user.
This talk focuses on Beaconstac’s initial architecture involving Elasticsearch, the problems faced and how Apache Pinot helped resolve these issues.

12:40-13:20 | lunch break
13:20-13:50 | How We Moved App Crash Debuggability to Pinot | Uber
