Spring Creek/Chipola Paddle

Details
Come join us as we celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the founding of the Apalachee Canoe & Kayak Club (ACKC). The weather is getting warm but not oppressively hot and the days are getting longer. Spring Creek/Chipola is calling. Let’s go paddling!
Let’s plan to meet at Turner Landing in Marianna at 9:00 am EDT/8:00 am. Call me for directions to Turner Landing. Spring Creek is a beautiful, winding little creek and we’ll stop to enjoy the warm, shallow water at a sand bar just upstream of the deeper Chipola River. This an easy, short run of about 4.5 miles so we’ll make this a float trip to prolong the pleasure as long as possible. We’ll take out at Magnolia Bridge south of Marianna.
Bring your own boat, paddles, pfd, whistle, plenty of water, insect repellant, sun protection, rain gear, snacks, personal first aid kit and any medications you may need. You must wear your pfd while paddling. No dogs please. Children under 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian or parent.
After the paddle, we’ll all head to one of the local restaurants in Marianna for a late lunch before heading back to Tallahassee. You must contact the trip organizer to be included on this paddle. This event is being posted on Meetup. For more details or to sign up, please contact Gwen Beatty at the listing on Meetup or by phone at 850 545-0531 or by email at gfbeatty@yahoo.com
