✨ Thursday Night Paddle Series 2026 – Glide into Golden Hour on the Wacissa ✨

Join Apalachee Canoe and Kayak Club for our Thursday Night Paddle Series, on the beautiful Wacissa River.
We’ll launch and land at Wacissa Springs County Park, just in time for the most magical hour of the day — when the light turns golden, the water glows emerald, and the only ripples on the water are left by paddle blades.

Think: smooth strokes, warm evenings, and that effortless “why don’t we do this every week?” feeling.
What to expect
Every Thursday is a little different, shaped by the group and the vibe:

• 💪 Fitness-focused paddles to get your heart pumping
• 🛶 Skills sessions to build confidence and technique
• 🌅 Relaxed sunset cruises to simply soak it all in

No matter the interest, one thing’s guaranteed: these paddles are always fun.

Never paddled before? Don’t have a boat or gear? No problem. All events have experienced leaders.
Two convenient on-site canoe and kayak liveries offer rentals, so you can simply show up and get on the water. We love helping first-timers feel comfortable and confident.

🕰 To be fair to your fellow paddlers, please be ready to be on the water at 5:30 PM sharp! Come earlier if you wish. If you think you will be late just send a message via Meetup and let us know. We can swing back past the launch and pick you up. As the days grow longer we will move the start times later.

🛶 IMPORTANT: If you are renting a paddle craft, please do so ahead of time so that you can launch with our group at 5:30 PM

🎩 Attire: Nautical panache encouraged! But do bring your life jackets. (If you are renting, outfitters will provide all required equipment.)

📑 REMINDER: All Paddlers must have completed the ACKC Insurance Waiver for 2026 📑

This waiver covers the individual for all club activities for the current year 2026 as a dues-paying member. If you have yet to pay dues for the current year, then the coverage only serves the individual for two (2) club events as a "Club Guest".
If you want to join the ACKC, membership dues are just $20.00, That's (4) bags of Fritos or (2) 6-packs of beer, or (2) tickets to a movie - and that's membership for the whole year! You may pay member dues online here: ACKC Annual Dues.

WEATHER STATEMENT: Paddling is a water sport but it is NOT a lightning sport.
Spotty showers are typical as we move into the summer. We will be meeting as planned even if there is rain in the forecast. We will not be on the water in the event of lighting. If there is significant weather in our area, the paddle will be called off by 4:00 PM (by way of Meetup message and email to ACKC Club Members).
