Hike in Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park for Ages 18-30

Details

Join us for a lovely walk under the trees. This is an approx. 6-mile hike with breaks every ~two miles, so know your ability and come prepared. This is a moderate hike with some gentle hills that are part of this beautiful park. We’ll walk through the popular Coon Bottom trail with views of a stream and small waterfalls. We'll also visit the bat house (if we can find it!).

Meet at the Redbug trailhead. Turn into the Meridian Park Sports Complex. The trailhead is located opposite the first baseball field. Arrive by 10:00am for check in and instructions. We start the hike at 10:15 am sharp.

Bring lots of water and some snacks, wear comfortable shoes, and apply bug repellent and sunscreen (and/or wear a hat) as needed. Dogs on a leash are welcome.

Anyone may attend this event; however, please consider joining the FTA. The Florida Trail Association builds, maintains, protects, and promotes the Florida National Scenic Trail and a network of hiking trails throughout Florida. Our vision is a continuous well-maintained, protected network of hiking trails on public lands that highlight the unique natural, scenic, cultural, and historic places in Florida. FTA Website
