Enjoy hiking in one of the most beautiful and ecologically diverse parks in our area, featuring mature forest, wetlands, creek beds, ravines, and meadows. The hike includes an overlook at Lake Jackson with bald eagle habitat.

This is an approximately 4-mile hike on a mostly wooded trail with frequent inclines and declines, and lots of exposed tree roots, which are potential trip hazards, so hiking poles are highly recommended. We’ll hike at a speed of 2.5-3.0 mph.

There is no drinking water available, so bringing your own water bottle is a must. Please come hydrated. Bring sunscreen and bug repellent, and a snack if needed. There is a port-o-let by the Gate A parking lot.

We will meet in the parking lot at Gate A, located at 1275 Miller Landing Road. This is 1/2 mile past the soccer complex on the left. NOTE: This is not the trail entrance at Meadows Soccer Complex. GO PAST the soccer fields for about 1/2 mile, and Gate A is on the left, marked by a small sign on the right.

Arrive at 9:45 AM for sign up, and we will hike at 10 AM sharp.

Please check the meet up app close to the date asI will post updates regarding the weather, cancellation, etc. Activity Leader: Erice Shepard 448-241-0972 text preferred, or email ericeshepard3@gmail.com
