Challenge Hike: Miccosukee Greenway Trek

Join us for a Challenge!

Enjoy a long walk under the trees. Meet at the Fleischmann Road Trailhead. This is a LONG 15-mile hike with breaks every ~two miles, so know your ability and come prepared. You can also walk part of the way, but you will be responsible for having a car/Uber/taxi waiting to bring you back to your vehicle. This is a great opportunity to motivate yourself for the all-day hikes on the AT and Camino.

We start the hike at 9:00 am sharp. Come early at 8:45am for instructions and check-in. We'll stop for lunch for about 20-30 minutes at the Crump Road trailhead (the half-way point). We will hike at a comfortable, but not leisurely, pace ~ 3 miles/hour (20-minute mile on average). Mild elevation (715 ft.).

Bring lots of water and some snacks/lunch, wear comfortable shoes, and apply bug repellent and sunscreen (and/or wear a hat) as needed. Dogs on a leash are welcome. Children (under age 18) must be attended by a parent or legal guardian.

Anyone may attend this event; however, please consider joining the FTA. We now have a special YOUTH membership (ages 18-30) for $10; ask Courtnay how to sign up! The Florida Trail Association builds, maintains, protects, and promotes the Florida National Scenic Trail and a network of hiking trails throughout Florida.
