Challenge Hike: Downtown Tallahassee/FAMU! (Great for students)

Join us for a Challenge Hike discovering FAMU and the surrounding area! Meet in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot at 10:00am for sign in and instructions; look for my little blue Honda Civic near S. Monroe. This will be a moderate to strenuous, 4-mile hike along the downtown/FAMU hills and stairways, so know your ability and come prepared (option to extend hike to 6-7 miles into Railroad Square Art Park). This is a great opportunity to see this lovely brick-n-mortar university and to motivate yourself for the mountainous hikes on the AT and Camino.

Bring lots of water and some snacks, wear comfortable walking shoes, and apply bug repellent and sunscreen (and/or wear a hat) as needed. No dogs or children please.

We start the hike at 10:15 am sharp. We will rest in the middle of our hike at the FAMU Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery to check the art exhibition and use the water fountains and restrooms if needed.

Please consider joining the Florida Trail Association (FTA); this membership is different than Meetup. We now have a special YOUTH membership (ages 18-30) for $10; ask Courtnay how to sign up! FTA builds, maintains, protects, and promotes the Florida National Scenic Trail and a network of hiking trails throughout Florida.
