Travis Pollard has been involved with wildland fire for almost 20 years and 16 of those have been at St. Marks NWR as a member of the fire crew. He was previously a Forest Ranger and heavy equipment operator with the Florida Forest Service. When not busy prescribed burning or fighting wildfires, he is the refuge trail coordinator and maintenance lead for 50 miles of the 1,100 mile Florida National Scenic Trail in the refuge. He has hiked the entire Florida National Scenic Trail and recently completed a 16 day, 350 mile thru-hike of the Pinhoti Trail, which spans Alabama and Georgia. He enjoys hiking, kayaking, weld art, and learning new, random bits of local and American history. |
