Hike to the Aucilla River Rapids

This hike will be on the Florida National Scenic Trail from Goose Pasture Road north to the Aucilla Rapids and return, approximately 9.6 miles. Bring: lunch, snacks, plenty of water (it may be hot out there), insect repellent, walking stick recommended for uneven ground. This is considered a moderate hike through a mostly shaded forest. Expect to hike at about 3 mph on uneven ground for 4+ hours with breaks. Not appropriate for young children. Dogs on leash and under control allowed.

For car pooling, meet at 8:00am at the Park and Ride located across the street from 3527 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee. We expect to leave this location by 8:30am. You may go directly to the Goose Pasture Road kiosk located at 30.200, -83.924. Be at the kiosk by 9:30am for the circle up. Hike starts at 10:00am. We’ll have a lunch stop at the rapids and return to Goose Pasture Road by about 3:00pm.
There is a group size limit. Please cancel your reservation if you cannot participate so someone on the wait list can join the hike.
