🌲 Celebrate National Trails Day® 2026!
Join the Apalachee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Camel Lake Campground (23239 NW Camel Lake Rd, Bristol, FL — $3 parking per vehicle) for a day of outdoor fun for the whole family!
We will be leading two hiking options in the beautiful Apalachicola National Forest, so pick the length that works for you! The longer, 7-mile starts early to beat the heat and the shorter, 1-mile hike is perfect for younger or inexperienced hikers. Be sure to bring water and wear shoes appropriate for trail hiking. Bug repellent and sunscreen may be needed.
🥾 Hike Options:
• 7-mile Bonnet Pond Hike — starts 8 AM
• 1-mile Camel Lake Loop — starts 9 AM
Let’s hit the trail together! 🌿
🏖️ Afterward: swim, play games, and enjoy a grilled lunch (hot dogs, chips, drinks).
🔥 RSVP so we can plan food.
Not hiking? Come by around 10 AM for the fun!
🏕️ Camping available — reserve at recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251904. (Please let us know if you plan to camp so we can plan some fun activities for Friday and Saturday night?!)
