Come and explore the Munson Hills portion of the Apalachicola National Forest. The trail runs through Longleaf pine dominated flatwoods which are home to Red-cockaded woodpeckers and Gopher tortoises. Despite the name of the trail it runs through flatwoods with very gentely sloping ground. The portion of trail that will be covered by this hike is just over 5 miles in length.

There is a water fountain that does not work reliably at the trail head so bring a supply of water and snacks.

The trail head is located approximately 1.5 miles south of Capital Circle at 6486 Woodville Highway, Tallahassee, FL 32305 at the intersection of Woodville Highway and Longevity Lane. Note there is a sign at the trail head but it is set back in the woods making it difficult to see from the highway.
