### Hop to It: Why Agentic AI Needs a Strong Pour of Event-Driven APIs Abstract
As Agentic AI systems evolve from simple copilots to fully autonomous actors, their thirst for real-time, contextual information is growing fast—and traditional request-response APIs just aren't cutting it anymore. Much like the best IPAs, these agents need something crisp, reactive, and full of bite: event-driven APIs.
In this lively session, we’ll crack open the reasons why Agentic AI thrives in event-driven architectures. You’ll learn:
- Why client-server models feel unnatural for autonomous agents, and how push-based data flows enable more intelligent, timely actions
- How MCP (Message Control Protocol), and A2A (Agent-to-Agent) communication protocols support more scalable, flexible agent interactions
- The critical role of event meshes, pub/sub, and asynchronous workflows in creating a responsive AI ecosystem
- Real-world use cases showing how Agentic AI systems are built to sense, decide, and act autonomously, with event-driven APIs as the backbone
If you're building or experimenting with AI agents, and wondering how to connect them to the world without constantly polling or hardwiring logic—this session is for you. Expect some tech, some laughs, and
maybe even an IPA recommendation or two.
Join us, and let’s toast to the future of intelligent autonomy—on tap and event-driven.
### Our Guest Speaker:
Jonathan Schabowsky is a senior architect in Solace's Office of the CTO. His expertise includes architecting large-scale, mission-critical enterprise systems in various domains, such as the FAA, satellite ground systems (GOES-R), and healthcare. Recently, Jonathan has been focused on the use of event-driven architectures for microservices and Solace's Event Management and Event Portal initiatives.

### FAQs
- Parking: There are two parking lots available for visitors that require payment. Pay at a kiosk located at the entrance of the 1819 lot using a credit or debit card. It's a flat $5 rate after 5pm.
- Accessibility: The location is wheelchair accessible. Enter through the main entrance and go straight back, then left to get to the elevator. Take three right turns off the elevator to find the room on the second floor.
- Food: Think pizza and light sandwiches food-wise, along with beverages, for attendees. We will try to have vegetarian options.
