Writing a Quality OpenAPI Contract
So you've created a REST API and now your pesky consumers are begging you for instructions on how to use it. No problem! You'll just write some quick documentation and get those consumers off your back. Except writing an OpenAPI contract isn't all that easy. Learning OpenAPI is a lot like learning a new language. Many common pitfalls are easy to fall into that can make contracts confusing. In this talk, we'll explore what some of those pitfalls are and how to avoid them. You will leave this talk with a better understanding of how to write OpenAPI Contracts to keep your consumers happier.
Our Guest Speaker:
Izzi Bikun
Currently gainfully employed at Availity, Izzi Bikun has been a developer for over a decade and has spent at least half that time designing APIs. Returning to the speaking scene after some time away, she appreciates the irony of speaking at the APIs and IPAs meetup since she's allergic to beer. In her spare time, she plays Ultimate Frisbee, tries to impress her 3-year-old by wearing dinosaur shirts, and really enjoys confusing people when she says she's going to text her mechanic (aka husband).
